Did you know India host an annual Jewellery Fashion Week?! I'm a bit of an accessory freak so I love getting ideas and ohhing and ahhing over the beautiful looks on the IIJFW runway. The focus is completely on the bling which means that hair and makeup is also on fine form. These are just some of my favourite looks this year...
Who says you can't wear a tika with a fringe?! Of course the only way this could actually work is if the rest of your hair is wavy or has some sort of texture to it, so that the fringe almost blends in like layers. Straight hair would look too rigid and the fringe would stick out like a sore thumb.
I love the drama and height in Lisa's hair (although I'd argue that long face shapes really don't need to look so lengthened). In terms of Indian jewellery this is actually very understated and so a big hairstyle complements it really well. Neither of them are fighting to be in the spotlight.
As brand ambassador for this year's IIJFW it's only fair that Sonam steals the show and gets the best jewels (those other actresses/models must really hate her!) There's a stark contrast between this, more contemporary, elegant look and the traditional one below, but both of them work so amazingly well. Personally, I prefer the more traditional look. I love the intricate work of the jewellery, the village-girl tousled hair, the drama and the colours - and who doesn't love an arm band!
Finally, what would a runway roundup be without some catwalk shockers? Here are some looks that really shouldn't have made it out in public... I'll let the pics do the talking this time...
Umm - wow #nowords
Tell me, who rocks it and who shocks it on the IIJFW runway?!
