India Bridal Fashion Week is back which can only mean one thing - wedding season! As usual all the top bridal designers had an A-list Bollywood celeb close their shows, competing for the most extravagant, jaw-dropping closing, and they really pulled out all the stops this year. Here are some of my favourite looks this year...
This is slightly more traditional and modest than what you usually see on the runway. The hair looks very glam and Bollywood and the nose ring pulls the whole look together.
I love this - it's so elegant, simple and feminine. The low, slicked back bun is also a welcome change to the big, pouffy hairstyles that you usually see on brides.
How beautiful is this elaborate hairstyle?! The curls have probably been set with a conical wand and I love how they've tied Chitrangda's short fringe into the whole look without making it look like a casual add-on.
A great way to add height to the crown without backcombing or adding a quiff is by twisting small sections of your hair as modelled by Esha. Geeeeenius.
The hair jewellery trend seems to be going strong and I love how this necklace has been used as a headpiece without it dominating the entire looks (sometimes less is more!)
Granted this isn't a typical bridal look but it is different... I can only assume that the designers felt that an OTT Asian bridal look would be too overpowering with such a statement outfit.
I love this gypsy-inspired bridal look! Let's ignore those hideous bangles for a sec and focus on the hair. It reminds me of a mermaid, and the turban gives it a seriously cool edge.
What's a bridal fashion show without a traditional, suits-all, bridal finale?! Love the plait detail on Sonam's bun - could it be making a comeback?!
Which celebrity looks is your favourite? I feel like we don't cover enough (or anything) on Asian bridal beauty here. Let me know if you'd like to see more...?!
