Let me start by saying that I hate (most) tinted moisturisers! They're either too light, smell like daffodils or do little or nothing to improve my skin tone. Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser is probably the only one that I like (please tell me if I'm missing a trick and there are loads more amazeballs ones in the market, 'cos I'm seriously struggling to find any).
What makes it so different to the other, shall-remain-nameless brands? For starters it comes in ten different shades, ranging from pale to dark brown, which for some reason is very rare with tinted moisturisers, and means that I don't step out looking like Edward Cullen. It's also oil free, which means it hydrates your skin without making it shiny or greasy. My skin's naturally quite shiny, especially the forehead area, so I'll still dust a bit of powder across the t-zone, but I haven't noticed any shimmer coming from it.
It also has SPF 20 which makes it perfect for summer and holidays. I've taken a tube of this with me to every single holiday that I've had in the last four years. You can control the amount of coverage you want and even your skin tone by using it more around problem areas. And, unlike foundation, it's super-lightweight and perfect for creating a more natural look. I do find that it's a bit difficult to blend because it has a thicker consistency to most tinted moisturisers, so I use a fluffy brush to really buff it in.
The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser is £33, which seems a bit steep for a tinted moisturiser but it lasts for ages and works as an amazing multi-tasker, so it's definitely worth the splurge!
Has anyone else tried this tinted moisturiser? Please recommend me some more!
