Last week saw Bollywood's biggest stars grace the red carpet for the annual Stardust awards. As usual, my eyes were immediately drawn to the hair and makeup on the red carpet. Here are some of my favourite (and not so favourite!) looks from the night...
Aside from the bronzey-brown lipstick (do they even sell that shade any more?!) I really like Sonakshi's hair and makeup here - it's very relaxed and simple. Her features are so striking that she doesn't need to pile on loads of makeup to stand out on the red carpet.
What does this woman use on her skin? It looks so radiant! I'm so glad that Mugdha went for a more understated makeup look - it would've been easy to pair a white gown with silvery, smokey eyes but on this occasion less is more. The edgy quiff has also grown on me - it's nice to see Bollywood actress try something a bit different!
Oh dear! Just as I announce Esha as the Beauty Icon for 2012 she comes out with THIS! I'm all for the natural look but this looks like she's just rolled out of bed. And don't even get me started on that shirt...
Wowzer! Priyanka looks beautiful! I'm going to ignore the silly fringe (no one's perfect...) and just say that her smokey eye is perfection - I need to know what eyeliner she used!
Raveena is one of my favourite actresses of all time so it's hard not to be biased, but I really love her look here. Not only is it chic and elegant, it's also very age appropriate. Sometimes when older actresses try to look younger with big hair and extravagant makeup it can actually age them.
I actually let out a gasp when I saw Anoushka on the red carpet. Everything about her look screams glamour and elegance.
Okay, so I just saw Raaz 3 and fell back in love with Bipasha Basu, but I'm having conflicted feelings after seeing this monstrosity. What possessed her to get such a mumsy haircut? This is the kind of hairstyle you'd seen on a CNN news reader, not a Bollywood glamazon!
What look was your favourite? I think Anoushka wins it this time!
